Hello my name is Jill Tate and I am a breeder of Burmese. My Prefix is “Chiquita” which means ( “My Girl”)

I have always loved cats but my interest in the Burmese Breed started in earnest with my purchase of two Blue male neutered Burmese. (Double Trouble) but I was hooked. I had purchased these two boys to show, one of which did very well for me, obtaining two Best in Shows and a Breeder Award Of Merit for his breeder.

After showing for two years I decided I would love to become a breeder of this beautiful cat.
I was fortunate enough to buy a beautiful Seal Breeding Queen from Khanarose Cattery in Dunedin. The lady who bred my queen had just started out in the breeding world herself so I was very honoured to get a breeding queen from her and the pick of the litter as well. She asked me to pick a name of a rose as all of this litter were to be named after roses. I picked Lovely Lady a beautiful salmon pink rose and Khanarose Lovely Lady was named.

Khanarose Lovely Lady is a Seal Burmese. Her pet name is Phoebe. Khanarose Lovely Lady was shown as a kitten and did very well, earning herself some Best In Shows including a Best In Show and a Runner Up in the Northern Burmese Show in 2006. She was also awarded a breeders award of merit for her breeder in the same year.

Khanarose Lovely Lady had her first litter on the 28th of October 2006. She produced six healthy Beautiful kittens, five seals and 1 lilac boy.
Out of this litter I have kept one little Seal girl, who is my first “Chiquita Queen” and her name is “Chiquita Iznt She Lovely.” Her pet name is Madison.
